About Our Pastor
Abe Cooper Jr. was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Raised and surrounded by educators, Cooper attended Dallas ISD schools and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1989. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Paul Quinn College, he became drawn to the family business of education and taught Physical Education at the K. B. Polk Elementary Vanguard in Dallas ISD for 10 years. During those years of serving the students of Dallas, he began his quest for personal and spiritual develop by attending the Criswell College of Biblical Studies. He earned his Master of Arts in Christian Leadership degree in 2004. In 2006, Pastor Cooper was brought on to serve in full time ministry by the late Dr. Karry D. Wesley at the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. He served in various pastoral roles included the Associate Pastor of Christian for the last 5 years of service. Cooper served faithfully at the Antioch Church until God called him to organize our Family of Faith.
Cooper is happily married to his wife Dionne, and the father to two students that have been reared in the Desoto ISD. His family is a vital component of his life and he strives to make the world around them better by positively influencing the Desoto community. He often spends time helping at schools, which includes multiples opportunities to speak at the Desoto West Middle School Male Leadership Program. A Desoto resident for 22 years, his introduction to Desoto ISD came by way of the Desoto Eagles football program, where he has served for 11 seasons as the teams Spiritual Advisor. Although the football program opened the avenue of a relationship with the Desoto ISD, the overall health of the district has become important to his heart. Cooper believes, “If there is a healthy relationship between the students and the Staff of the schools, the atmosphere created will be highly conducive to learning.”
Pastor Cooper is a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and Serves as a board member for TEL International Missions organization.
